For Loan with possible view to buy – Oscar. Companion/light hack only. 16.1 Irish Thoroughbred, 22 years old, owned for 3 years. Has slight arthritis, which is managed with devils claw, which must be continued. Happy to hack 2-3 times a week for up to an hour as this helps his mobility. The perfect bombproof hack – happy to go out both alone and in company. Does get excited in big groups however, and likes to be in front. I have hacked him for 3 years both alone and in the company of 1-2 other ponies, which he seems to enjoy. Not your typical TB, very calm and perfect escort for younger ponies/horses or for ride and lead. He is schooled to a high standard and knows some dressage moves, but does not enjoy being in the school and can get grumpy, so he needs a happy hacker home - He is a good soul and has been taken advantage of in the past due to his good nature, so he deserves to do what he wants to do and be looked after now he is in his twilight years. He lives out during the summer and in during winter, as he does not like the cold. Extremely good with others, we have geldings but sure he’d be fine with mares too. Needs company, must not be kept alone. He can be taken away from others with no issues but must not be left alone as will stress. Has impeccable ground manners, he is respectful and safe. He would suit someone wanting to plod around, and enjoy a slower pace of life. Currently on a small private family yard with 3 others, would be willing to loan him within 15 miles of Keyworth, Nottingham and would consider selling him to the right home. All potential loan homes will be checked and references will be required. Will require regular contact with any loan home – this is to ensure he receives only the best treatment and care.
